Melissa serves as a member of Christ Our King’s Parish Council and as a small group leader. Having grown up in the Anglican Church, she is drawn to what she describes as the humble, simple, and grounding truths of the liturgy and the sacrament of Eucharist. Melissa started a more intentional faith journey born out of a deeper curiosity of the Holy Spirit in high school. She then became part of a Christian community in university where she served in many different roles on campus, at youth camp, and with international ministries. Now, as a young woman in the Church, Melissa felt challenged to grow in her faith journey and took the opportunity to serve on the Parish Council so that she could learn from others in a new capacity while also sharing her own perspectives. Since joining Christ Our King, she has developed an intimacy with Jesus through rediscovering liturgy and sacrament, and feels blessed to have a home where she feels safe to learn and grow.
As a Kinesiologist graduate, Melissa loves to help people with their bodies. She does Kinesiology by day and studies by night, currently in school again to become an Osteopath. Melissa is a born and bred Saskatchewanian who enjoys being outside and doing activities like skiing, hiking, biking and sports. She also love travelling and considers drinking coffee as one of her main hobbies.
