Mariah oversees the direction of Children’s Chapel, creates curriculum, and leads the volunteers. In the winter of 2022, Mariah was woken suddenly in the night with an urgency to document the beginnings of what, she thought at the time, was a parent handbook for a boldly gospel centred preschool. What flowed out of her over the next few hours was actually the initial beginnings of Christ Our King’s new Children’s Chapel! She believes that this program’s mission, vision and structure are gifts from the Lord for our children to more fully participate in the body, and it is by His grace alone that she shares it with our families. Mariah has since developed a comprehensive program that runs parallel to the church services and liturgical calendar, resulting in a deeper understanding of the Gospel for our kids.
Outside of ministry, Mariah is a school teacher, avid baker, crafting apprentice, and enjoyer of all things cozy. If you’ve ever had the chance to try Mariah’s baking, consider yourself lucky! She is married to Greg and they have two wonderful kids, Leif and Aaro. As a family, they love spending time together by playing board games, competing against each other through the Nintendo Switch, camping, exploring nature, and having pajama days. The Riewe’s are long time members of the church and have been instrumental to its development.
