Josh is an avid musician with a passion for all things music. He loves creating music with other people, lyrics that encapsulate the Christian narrative, and the fact that music touches people’s hearts and minds. Josh believes that when all of these aspects are united together, they are made whole when put into a worship and liturgical context. That in this space, musicians and congregants can fully participate in offering up their voices to the Creator of the universe in praise, adoration, thanksgiving, petition, and lament. A type of powerful experience that is only found in the Church. Josh is leading Christ Our King on a journey of music by weaving it throughout Sunday services and adding aspects like sung liturgy and responsorial Psalms. He also serves on the Parish Council as the People’s Warden.
Josh is a true Calgarian, born and raised! He is the husband to Melody, dad to active toddlers Charlotte & Matthias, and human to slobbery bulldog Norman. Josh went to the University of Calgary and is a Copywriter in the tech industry. He loves spending time with his family and you’ll find them at parks, libraries, malls, and exploring the city for good Asian food. He also enjoys running, reading, listening to theology podcasts, and learning jazz guitar. Josh makes a killer pho noodle soup, much to his wife’s delight, and is really into home automation, much to his wife’s dismay.
